How do I add an Air contact? (Send a contact request.)
There are two ways to send someone a contact request: via username or through a mutual group chat.
How to send a contact request via username:
Tap the plus button in the upper right corner of the app.
Tap “New Air contact”.
Enter the username of the person you want to add as an Air contact. Then tap “Check”.
The username will be validated to make sure the person exists on Air. Tap “Send” to send the contact request.
Air automatically creates a new 1:1 chat between you and your new Air contact. The other person needs to accept the contact request before you can send messages.
How to send a contact request via mutual group chat:
From the mutual group chat, go to the profile of the person you want to add as an Air contact. You can do this by tapping their username from within the chat’s message list, or from the group details page.
Tap “Chat”.
Confirm that you want to send the person a contact request by tapping “Send”.
